Light Sport eVTOL
Two-seat coaxial electric VTOL
Two-seat personal eVTOL from AirCar Aviation, Inc. (formerly Aircar Corp), a multicopter with eight electric motors in a redundant coaxial layout and a carbon-fibre airframe. AirCar lists 30–45 min flight time, an estimated 30–50 mile range, a 70 kt (80 mph) top speed, 500 lb capacity (2 people), 660 lb weight including batteries, a 400 V semi-solid-state battery that fast-charges from 10% to 90% in 15 min, and an automatic ballistic parachute. The company says it flew a full-scale prototype in 2021 and a crewed flight of its sixth prototype in 2025. It plans FAA MOSAIC Light-Sport certification; it is not certified yet. AirCar gives an estimated base price of $99,000, takes $250 reservations and targets 300 deliveries in 2028; its SEC filing calls pre-orders non-binding. Not to be confused with KleinVision's AirCar flying car.
