JP1
Hybrid-electric multicopter, 8 rotors on 4 booms, 2 seats tandem, enclosed canopy
DTA JP1 is a two-seat hybrid-electric personal eVTOL from DTA Aircraft (DTA Americas Inc., Scottsdale, Arizona; the French DTA group has built aircraft since 1990). Manufacturer figures, preliminary: 8 rotors on 4 booms, tandem seats under an enclosed canopy, a rotary-engine range extender (80 kW continuous / 90 kW peak) on Jet A-1, JP-5, JP-8 or SAF with a 70 L tank, and 30 minutes on the batteries alone. Endurance is 2 hours with two aboard and up to 3 hours solo. Range is 180 mi (290 km) with two and 270 mi (435 km) solo. Cruise is 90 mph (145 km/h). Payload is 180 kg (396 lb) with full fuel. Empty weight is 284 kg (626 lb). Maximum altitude is 4,000 m (13,123 ft). It measures 3.0 × 3.0 m and folds to 2.44 m for trailering. It is designed to keep flying with up to four propeller failures, and it has a whole-airframe ballistic parachute plus an autopilot with automatic takeoff and landing. The prototype is flying, with 200+ hours of flight testing in France. It is not certified. The path is FAA Light Sport under MOSAIC. Pre-orders are open at $385,000 list, with a $12,000 deposit. Deliveries are planned for 2028 on chassis 1–50, and 2029 after that. MTOW, battery kWh, motor power, maximum speed and the first-flight date are not published.
