Hyundai Supernal

S-A2

Eight all-tilting rotors; V-tail concept

Hyundai Motor Group's Supernal unveiled the S-A2 air-taxi concept at CES 2024: a pilot plus four passengers, V-tail, eight all-tilting rotors and distributed electric propulsion. Targets were 120 mph cruise at 1,500 ft, a 60-mile initial range (25–40-mile city trips), 65 dB in hover and 45 dB in cruise, and 2028 market entry. Supernal's CEO left in August 2025; flight testing was reported paused that September and most staff were laid off in early 2026. In May 2026 Hyundai signed an MoU with Korea Aerospace Industries, and Supernal told FLYING the partners will pursue a new aircraft concept rather than the S-A2. Concept only; not type-certified.
